Purpose
The purpose of a correctional facilities committee is to coordinate
the work of individual A.A. members and groups who are interested
in carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics behind the walls,
and to set up means of smoothing the way from the facility to the
larger A.A. community through pre-release contacts.

Application Instructions
There are hundreds of alcoholics behind bars in our area.
Many will not have access to AA without a volunteer. Can you give just one hour a month?
Download the application for the facility that you are committed to bringing a meeting to on a regular basis. Fill out the application
Contact the CFC committee chair at cf@aanc33.org to arrange for him/her to pick up and turn in your application to the facility (this is done to ensure the greatest likelihood that your application will be approved by the facility’s administration). Wait for your application to be approved
If a few weeks have passed and you have yet to receive approval, please contact the CFC chair as a follow up. We are excited about your commitment to work with alcoholics behind the wall.
Have an Inmate visit and/or Speak at Your Home Group
Currently incarcerated AAs can be brought to your home group to share their powerful message of hope and recovery under difficult circumstances.
A prison sponsor would have to be contacted at least 2 weeks in advance to submit a pass and escort the prisoner to the meeting.
Donate Grapevines
Inmates have lots of time to read and will greatly appreciate your used Grapevines or those of your entire home group. Grapevines are used to hold the meetings in jails since every issue includes the Serenity Prayer, Preamble, 12 Steps and 12 Traditions and can be used by inmates to hold their own meetings within the facilities whenever they choose. We try to have enough Grapevines to give to every attendee at every meeting held in the jails every time we go.
Write letters to an Alcoholic Inmate
If you would like to share your experience, strength and hope with an alcoholic in prisons across the US then download and read the pamphlet below.
Fill it out, mail it in and GSO will send you the name and contact information of an alcoholic so that you can correspond with them.
